Literature/ Little Red Book

                                    Little Red Book

The Little Red Book was carried around by everyone in China and it was their most prized possession. In the schools the students waved it proudly in the air as they sang to Mao. This book contained many of the quotes said by Chairman Mao and were written down by Mao himself. The Red Guards used this book to find and punish the people who were not following Chairman Mao or the ones who broke the rules. During the revolution  things were judged by the quotes “Correcting Mistaken Ideas” and “All Reactionaries are Paper Tigers”

When all the Red Guards went to Beijing to hear         Chairman Mao speak they all brought their Little Red Books. When Chairman came out to speak everyone took out their red book waved them in the air and sang his song. The Little Red Book was so important to everyone because it contained quotes from Chairman Mao and during this time he was revered by everyone.
